Top Cologne Tips for Men

JournalTop Cologne Tips for Men

Most men will agree that perfumes are tricky. There is a method to their madness and a bit of knowledge to mastering men’s cologne, ways that will get you a lot closer to grooming martyrdom. And having a signature fragrance is not only important for your own confidence, but your spicy senorita’s approval too.

Actually, women sense of smell on a guy is critically important to them, they can literally smell confidence. Having said that, let’s examine some of the important things you should know when applying male perfume.

Less is More

Who said you need too much to smell your best! Two or possible three spritzes depending on the male perfume power and that should be enough. The last thing you want is to be the guy everyone can smell from a mile away. Women don’t want you to smell like an entire cologne bottle, they want to smell YOU with a touch of awesome fragrance to boot. Keep in mind even if you can’t smell it on you, it’s probably there softly and subtlety.

Mist Technique and Rubbing

If you think the mist technique works, then you might be in for a rude shock. In a nutshell, this technique is when you spritz the fragrance in the air, and the walk into it thinking that’s going to be the best way to smell good all over. Well, it doesn’t work.

Not to mention, rubbing your wrists together, is a no-go since you are just destroying the delicate balance of the male perfume. Fragrances have different notes that work in unison and if you rub your wrists together, you’re changing the chemistry and destroying the fragrance’s essence.

The Pulse Points

Pulse points are the areas of your body which allow for the most even distribution of scent since your skin there is warmer. For men, these points are the neck, armpits, knees, wrists, and behind the ears.

You don’t have to spray the fragrance on all your pulse points since it would overkill. Rather, pick a few and see what works best for you. We recommend starting with just the neck and wrists. For most of us, this will be more than enough to get the job done.

Now that you have an insight into how to apply male perfume, why not consider finding the ideal one for you? Be sure to see the collection at DIOR Singapore today.
